Cheng Cheng-Kung

Master Cheng is an internationally recognized bonsai artists specializing in carving. He has won countless honors and prizes in Local and National Bonsai Exhibitions in his native Taiwan and is a founding member of the Taiwan Bonsai Creators‘ Association. He has written “Bonsai Shari Si-Diao” and has spent a large part of the last 10 years leading lectures and demonstration around the world.

Marc Noelanders
Hasselt, Belgium |
Marc Noelanders was born and lives in Belgium. He has studied extensively in Japan under noted Japanese artists, including Kimura. He has been recognized by John Naka as having a recognizable and unique style. In his own characteristic way, he knows how to shape the trees, and show them in a new form to the world. He also teaches in Great Britain, Europe, Russia, Canada, and the U.S. |

Jose Luis Rodriguez
Puerto Rico |
A very talented artist that specializes mostly on local tropical species. At his current age, 31, he has traveled to Taiwan and Indonesia to study advanced bonsai techniques. Besides giving lectures and demonstrations in his home country, he has been invited to demonstrate in the Moscoso National Botanical Garden of the Dominican Republic and in Fairchild Tropical Gardens in Miami, Florida.

Suthin Sukosolvisit
Boston, Massachusetts |
Suthin Sukosolvisit has been a bonsai artist since 1970 and is a magician with shohin bonsai. Being from Thailand, he has extensive experience with tropical bonsai. His expertise also includes Japanese maples, black pine and root over rock styles. He is proficient with many other species. He and his wife operate the Royal Bonsai Garden, Inc. in Stoughton, Massachusetts.

Kathy Shaner
San Jose, California |
Kathy started her career in 1983 and has become internationally recognized for her excellence in the art of Bonsai. Kathy was granted an apprenticeship in Toyohashi, Japan where she worked for Yasuo Mitsuya, winner of the Minister of Education and Kokufu awards. Kathy was the first woman and first non-Japanese citizen to be certified by the Nippon Bonsai Kyodo Kumaii. She also maintains and designs private collections throughout the United States and is the curator of the Golden State Bonsai Collection.

Rendezvous Workshop Trees
This year, we invite Rendezvous participants to exhibit their favorite tree from a previous Rendezvous
workshop.
Our guest artists will award prizes for 1st 2nd and 3rd place and will be available to critique
all exhibited trees. If you would like to participate please call the nursery for more details.
